SPS Levy Meeting at Montlake: Thursday, January 10, 7:00 pm
SPS is hosting a meeting about the levies at Montlake Elementary on Thursday January 10 from 7-8 pm.
If you can’t attend in person, the district will be broadcasting the Thursday, January 10 event live on Facebook. Tune in via our Facebook page www.facebook.com/SeattlePublicSchools/ at 7:10 p.m.
Also, there are two other meetings scheduled. All meetings are 7-8 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 8 – John Rogers Elementary School Cafeteria, 4030 NE 109th Street
Tuesday, Jan. 22 – Rainier Beach High School Cafeteria, 8815 Seward Pk. Ave. South
Each meeting will include a short presentation, starting at 7:10 p.m. about what’s on the Educational Programs and Operation Levy (EP&O), and the Building Excellence V (BEX V) Capital Levy. Participants will also have time to ask questions about the ballot propositions, the process, and what’s included for each school in the district’s levy request.
These two levies replace existing levies and are not a new tax to Seattle property owners. All funds stay in Seattle to support our students and schools and pay for safety and security upgrades at every school, critical day-to-day operations, educator salaries, technology supports, and will fund eight major school construction projects across the district to increase classrooms, reduce portables, and balance class sizes.

Community Budget Social: January 15, 6:00 pm
Please join us on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 6-8 pm in the Montlake Elementary Gym for a Community Budget Social!
You may know that the PTA runs a robust fundraising program here at Montlake, but what happens to the funds we raise?
Come hear all about how the PTA uses donations from the community, and share your priorities for the 2019-2020 PTA budget! Attendees will workshop together to create a set of priorities and principles that the PTA Board can use to ensure that next year’s budget truly represents our community’s interests.
ALL ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND – even if you’re not a donor or a PTA member (though only PTA members will be able to vote on the final budget at our Spring General Meeting in May 2019).
Dinner will be provided, and childcare is available by e-mailing Launch Director Brent Dumlao at email@example.com.
