Next PTA Meeting

Don’t miss the PTA General Membership Meeting! Tuesday October 16, 2018, 6-7:30 p.m.! Dinner will be provided, and limited childcare is available at no cost (for children aged 4+; email Christine.Stark@launchlearning.org). EVERYONE is welcome!!

YOU need to hear about threatened school budget cuts next year and how you (and PTA power) can change the story!
Special guest speaker JoLynn Berge (Seattle Public Schools’ Assistant Superintendent of Budget and Finance) will tell us how budget cuts could affect Montlake Elementary, and our Legislative Advocacy Chair, Kate Dillon Levin, will fill you in on how PTA is fighting cuts, as well simple ways you can help out too.

PLAYDATES AT THE PARK!
KINDERGARTEN & 1ST GRADE: On Sunday, October 21, 3-5 p.m., Montlake PTA Outreach committee is hosting a playdate at Montlake Playground.
2ND & 3RD GRADE: On Sunday, October 28, 3-5 p.m., Montlate PTA Outreach committee is hosting a playdate at Montlake Playground.
Please join us for snacks and play!
While we have divided these gatherings by grade, please feel free to join the day that works best for your schedule.

WHAT ISSUES ARE MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU?
On October 20-21, Kate Levin, Montlake Community PTA Legislative Advocacy Chair, will represent Montlake families at the Legislative Assembly. The issues supporting the “Health, Education & Welfare” of our students cover a wide spectrum of policies from school meals and closing to the gaps to pre-school, recess, SEL, teacher shortages, gun safety and more.
